Although the Weikl group of companies in Bodenmais was well prepared to take the step: Four years ago it virtually went from 0 to 100 in the new automation business line. The EPLAN Platform was used from the outset. Consistent design with the integration of production enable a high degree of flexibility and automation. Just four years after its establishment, the company has achieved good market positioning with expansion being planned.

KWS Saat SE

Parametrization instead of drawing

The majority of the 4,600 employees at KWS Saat SE are involved in the development of new seed varieties. The complex machines and systems required for seed processing and breeding are also manufactured in-house using the EPLAN Platform – beginning with P&I diagrams which are designed using the Preplanning module. The underlying principle is consistent, cross-disciplinary design processes from mechanical and process engineering through to fluid power and electrical engineering.

Good (pre)-planning is half the job

Höckh Metall-Reinigungsanlagen GmbH is located in Neuenbürg in the German Black Forest and produces automated plants for industrial parts cleaning. The main mechanical and electrical engineering design procedures are also as automated as the cleaning of parts such as engine components. Design automation is based on an integrated CAE system using EPLAN Preplanning as the starting point in product development.
